KJ Sanchez

KJ is the founding CEO of American Records. Directing credits include ReEntry by Emily Ackerman and KJ Sanchez at Urban Stages (Off-Broadway); the world premiere of Kristoffer Diaz’s The Upstairs Concierge (Goodman Theatre); Venus in Fur, Sex With Strangers and Martin Zimmerman’s Seven Spots on the Sun, LCT Award, Best Direction (Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park); Harvey, Noises Off, The Diary of Anne Frank (Milwaukee Repertory Theater); two plays by Quiara Hudes, Water by the Spoonful (Studio Theatre, Washington DC) and 26 Miles (Round House Theatre).

KJ’s plays have been produced at Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Baltimore’s Center Stage, Asolo Repertory Theatre, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Two River Theater Company, Round House Theatre, Cornerstone Theater Company, HERE Arts Center (NYC) and many others. KJ is the voice of many characters on Nickelodeon cartoons Go, Diego, Go! and Dora the Explorer. She is a Fox Fellow, Douglass Wallop Fellow and a recipient of the 2014 Rella Lossy Playwright Award.
