David Coulter composes for the stage, theatre, dance and film and builds various experiences out of sound. His work moves between writing a score and shaping the room it lives in, drawn always to the place where music meets the visual. David Coulter has written, directed, recorded, produced and played with numerous artists such as Tom Waits, The Pogues, Kronos Quartet, Laurie Anderson, Yoko Ono, Wes Anderson, Claire Denis, Marianne Faithfull, Damon Albarn, Gorillaz and the Royal Shakespeare Company

He has played on over 200 albums.

Betty Mitchell Award for best score for a new play for A Thousand Splendid Suns.

David Coulter was didgeridoo player to HM Queen Elizabeth II.
