Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Mikaal attended the University of the Arts as an acting major. Soon after he studied the Jacque Lecoq approach to physical theatre at the London International School of Performing Arts. He has worked under the direction of Dan Rothenberg in Love Unpunished and many other Pig Iron Theatre projects and Aaron Posner in The Tempest at the Folger Theatre in Washington, DC. He was most recently on the European tour of Mission Drift, directed by Rachel Chavkin for The T.E.A.M., which won a Scotsman Fringe First and a Herald Angel Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He was ecstatic to work with director Raelle Myrick-Hodges again as his previous collaboration with her was the world premiere of Rust at the Magic Theatre in San Francisco. Mikaal is also a recognized sound designer in theatre, dance and film.
