Lynn Nottage’s spicy new comedy Clyde’s touches on hope and redemption in the face of despair in a greasy spoon sandwich shop run by the formerly incarcerated.
During the play, the line cooks dream up some delicious sandwich recipes and so we thought – let’s dream up some of our own! On August 1, we launched a sandwich recipe contest and ensued on a magical culinary journey.
After a month of submissions, we chose 3 finalists to move on to the final part of our recipe contest, a tasting at our Open House event on August 26 by a panel of celebrity judges including UNC Chancellor Kevin Guskiewicz, WHUP Light’s Up host Wayne Leonard, UNC Department of Dramatic Art Chair Kathryn Hunter-Williams, and UNC Professional Actor Training Program student Mengwe Wapimewah.
And from the judges, the winner came to be: Livia Bagley with the “Salsa Avocado” sandwich!
