A Play Reading and Discussion

Dad’s running for President.
Daughter’s running wild.
Reporters are running out of time.

Then someone unfurls a Confederate flag.

Sponsored by the Joan H. Gillings Center for Dramatic Art and the Hussman School of Media & Journalism

Confederates is high stakes dive into today’s political media landscape, featuring PlayMakers’ resident acting company members. Join us for a concert reading of Suzanne Bradbeer’s gripping one-act play Confederates, followed by a panel discussion about journalistic ethics in a politically-charged, Internet-driven media environment.

Experts from UNC’s Department of Dramatic Art, UNC’s Hussman School of Journalism and Media, and UNC’s School of Law will discuss the challenges raised by the play in this important election year in this unique cross-campus collaboration.

Seating is limited. Refreshments will be served.
