When The Wolves by Sarah DeLappe kicks off on October 8, you’ll meet a powerhouse team of young women (and one unforgettable Soccer Mom) who bring this Pulitzer Prize finalist to life on the Paul Green stage. Just like any great team, each player brings their own unique story, training, and energy to the field. Let’s introduce you to the pack:
⚽️ The Wolves

Swetha Anand (#2, Defense)
Making her PlayMakers debut, Swetha is a UNC undergraduate who brings fresh energy and perspective to the team. Her character is innocent, unlucky, kind, and navigating the world with wide-eyed sincerity at sixteen.
Elizabeth Dye (#7, Striker)
A third-year student in the Professional Actor Training Program (PATP), Elizabeth has already dazzled audiences in Little Shop of Horrors and Confederates. As #7, she’s too cool for school—sarcastic, sharp, with a rebellious streak (and thick eyeliner to match). Almost seventeen, she’s got plenty of attitude.

Delaney Jackson (#11, Midfield)
An exciting debut for this first-year PATP actor. Delaney plays the brainy, morbid, budding elitist of the team—thoughtful beyond her years, with a sharp edge to her seventeen-year-old wisdom.
Jadah Johnson (#8, Defense)
A third-year PATP actor, Jadah has recently performed for audiences in Death of a Salesman and The Christmas Case of Hezekiah Jones. As #8, she’s sixteen, funny, and full of surprises.

Lily Kays (#25, Defense, Captain)
Talk about perfect casting: Lily is not only making her PlayMakers debut but is also a graduate student in UNC’s School of Social Work—and a real-life local soccer coach and player. On stage, she’s the classic (ex)coach’s daughter—steady, disciplined, and leading the pack at seventeen.
Caroline Marques (#14, Midfield)
A first-year PATP actor making her debut, Caroline steps into the role of #7’s insecure sidekick. Sixteen and trying to keep up while finding her own place.

Celeste Pelletier (#46, Bench)
Also debuting with PlayMakers, Celeste is a first-year PATP student whose character is the new girl—awkward, different, sixteen, and just trying to fit in with the team.
Katie Stevens (#13, Midfield)
A UNC undergraduate making her PlayMakers debut, Katie plays the stoner with an older pot-dealer brother—quirky, offbeat, and leaning into her wackiness at sixteen.

Mengwe Wapimewah (#00, Goalie)
A third-year PATP actor, Mengwe returns to PlayMakers after memorable performances in Confederates. As #00, they embody the team’s intense perfectionist—seventeen, battling performance anxiety, and determined to achieve at the highest level.
⚽️ Soccer Mom
Dana Marks
A professionally trained Durham-based actor, teacher, and director, Dana makes her PlayMakers debut as Soccer Mom. A parent who unexpectedly steps into the spotlight in a powerful way.

Together, these artists form the team at the heart of Sarah DeLappe’s exhilarating, funny, and deeply human story of adolescence, ambition, and connection. Come cheer them on when The Wolves opens October 8!
