Charlie Varon

As collaborator/director, Varon has worked with Dan Hoyle on his solo shows Circumnavigator (2004), Tings Dey Happen (2007) and Each And Every Thing. As playwright/performer, his solo shows include Rabbi Sam (2009), Honest Prophets (1991), Rush Limbaugh in Night School (1994; revived 2004), Ralph Nader Is Missing! (1997), The People’s Violin (2000), Ten Day Soup (2002) and Visiting Professor of Pessimism (2003). These plays have won many awards and several have been published by Dramatists Play Service. All are the fruit of Charlie’s 20-year collaboration with David Ford. His humor pieces have appeared in The New Yorker, The Atlantic, The Los Angeles Times and Salon, among other publications.
