Meet the Cast

Our upcoming production of What the Constitution Means to Me features a powerhouse ensemble of talent ready to bring Heidi Schreck’s story to life with humor, heart, and a dash of debate.

Heidi – Played by Julia Gibson

PlayMakers resident company actor Julia Gibson takes on the role of Heidi Schreck. Julia brings her razor-sharp wit and emotional depth to this iconic role, reflecting on her teenage self as she debates the Constitution’s impact on her life. You’ve seen her grace the PlayMakers stage in performances like Murder on the Orient Express and Misery, and now she returns with another compelling performance.

Legionnaire – Played by Jeffrey Meanza

In the role of the Legionnaire, PlayMakers’ own Jeffrey Meanza will step into the world of constitutional oratory with his trademark charm and gravitas. You may recognize Jeffrey from his many roles both on stage and behind the scenes as an Associate Artistic Director, but in this production, he’ll challenge Heidi with his commanding presence and sharp intellect.

Local Debaters – Amari Bullett and Taryn Melvin

Rounding out the cast are two rising stars from our local community. Amari Bullett and Taryn Melvin, both students from local high schools, will take the stage as the young debaters. These talented young performers will challenge Heidi – and the audience – to think critically about the Constitution’s relevance in our modern world. Their fresh voices will bring new energy to this pivotal role, offering perspectives that will resonate with every generation.
